    Description

    This is a NE Wisconsin Big Bald Faced Hornet Hive embedded in large bush branches with attached leaves and limbs. It was harvested late fall - 2020.   The hive on the branch measures 7 1/2" long and is 18" in circumference.  Measured with the brach, it is 30+" long and just over 12" across.  It is a sturdy and well-built hive--structured around and through several large branches for extra strength and durability from winds and predators along the riverside.  The coloration of this hive is mostly light and dark shades of grey with white whorls throughout.
    NOTE: There is a small approximately 1" hole made by a predator - it can be viewed only when looking down from the branch top - and has little affect on the overall appearance. This hive offers just one well-shaped entry hole.  See photos for the best description.  Most any collector, teacher, cave, home decorator or medical user will likely be pleased with this freshly harvested bald faced hornet's hive--well intact with leaf and twig and limb samples attached.
