The 1862 PENINSULA CAMPAIGN / HARRISON'S LANDING / UNION III CORPS AREA (Circled Area on the map) - Brass Sword Belt/Musket Sling Hook, measuring about 2" long - Recovered by Andy Keyser in the late 1980s
A very nice Brass Sword Belt/Musket Sling Hook, measuring about 2" long, that was found by Andy Keyser of Gettysburg Relics in the late 1980s in the area where the Union III Corps camped at Harrison's Landing during the summer of 1862 after the Seven Day's Battles. Harrison's Landing was the second main area that Andy relic hunted (the East Cavalry Field at Gettysburg was the first) and he pulled many relics from the ground over the course of about five years of hunting from 1985 to 1990. He lived in Pennsylvania, but was able to get down there to hunt about two or three days each year. The maps show the area circled where this artifact was found. A provenance letter will be included.
